The End of an Era
I have a couple of things to say about the end of the Price is Right era. I really love this show. I’ve been watching it more recently because of Mr. Barker’s imminent departure, but I really haven’t watched it that much in recent years. I was comforted to see that the show really hasn’t changed that much. I like the continuity. Am I a walking cliché of the post-modern/modern condition or what? I watched it almost everyday when I was a child and I’ve been told many times that I used to say to Lena: “Chena (sic), one day, they’re gonna say, ‘Sara Francis Mason, Come on Down!’”. Now that will never happen. It was a beautiful dream, but I must let it go. God bless you Bob and happy retirement!

No life?
While it is true that at times I would wholeheartedly agree that I have no life, I object to the premise that having watched over 85 (I have watch exactly 85, by the way) of the movies on the movie list posted on both Bonnie and Hannah's blogs means that I have no life. I'm sure if I hadn't I would sit back and smile smugly about my pop-culture superiority. I think this is what bothers me. Why these movies? Why are they deemed particularly un-worthy of my time? There are some classics here--Waiting for Guffman, Blazing Saddles--that even the staunchest movie snob would admit to loving. I guess it’s the old high culture/low culture divide suggested by this list that I object to. Furthermore, I don't think I should have to count movies such as Old School and Ghost Ship, which had really great premises, but just failed (miserably) to deliver. That’s my 2cents worth of rant, for anybody who’s interested.

Henry
Here are some pictures of Mr. Henry Thomas Seetoo for your enjoyment. Some of them are a little bit blurry--I didn't want to blind him.
This when he was "brand spanking new":
All of his birth information (I won the weight pool, FYI):

Sleepy baby:
Finally awake:
With Memom:
With Poppy:
He really is a sweet baby (so far). I'm already his favorite aunt, at least I tell him this everytime I see him. Tina and Tom have taken to it as well. It wil be an interesting experiement to see if it actually works. Of course, it will be hard to control for other factors that might lead to me being the favorite aunt. Such as, I'm a really awesome aunt, and more importantly, I have no kids, so they all get a lot of attention from Aunt Sara.

Photography and Life
I have some photographs in a group show at Inman Perk Coffee from May 21st through June 17th. There's an opening reception on June 1st from 7pm to 9pm. If you are in the area and you want some free wine, cheese and whatnot, it would be great to see you. Inman Perk is located at 280 Elizabeth Street off of Highland Ave in Inman Park--Fritti is across the street.
Life is good. Although my niece was hospitalized for a horse related head injury on Thursday, she is at home and doing fine. Her doctor was Dr. Cuff, who I believe is Courtney Cuff's Dad--for all of you old timers.
On Tuesday night I cam home to find termites swarming in my closet and bedroom. My land lord is being a complete ass about the whole thing. He was responsive to the issue (at least)but he's not hiring someone who knows how to deal with termites. He also doesn’t believe that there is more than one kind of termite--I tried to tell him this and he dismissed me--and now he doesn't even think that they are termites, but female mosquitoes. Okay, so here's a photo of what I saw:

And here's a female mosquito:

Do those look anything like each other to you?
peace out,
Sara
