Hey y'all. Long time no blog. I hope that everyone is doing well. SB is about the same as usual, which I'm happy to say is not bad. The quarter is going rather smoothly, and I'm actually getting some work done. It feels like it's been months. Yea me!
I also recently turned 31. Thanks to Chip and Susan for the birthday greetings and happy birthday to the rest of the Scorpios out there. My family, on the other hand, completely forgot to call me. Tres Sixteen Candles. It's okay, I should be able to milk that for a while. I spent most of the weekend celebrating my entrance to the world and it was a blast! It all began with a "Ladies Lunch" and the Matrix (it blows -see the message board for more of my thought on this). On Saturday I cooked dinner with my friends, ate cake (coconut), opened presents (a DVD/CD player) and watched videos (Cosmos by Carl Sagan and 2,000 Maniacs. A Confederate zombie movie). It was all capped off with a concert on the Queen Mary in Long Beach on my birthday proper. Iggy Pop was the headliner and he absolutely rocked! He has more energy at 56 than I've ever had in my 31 years. I also had one of those great small world experiences. Just before Iggy Pop started I looked behind me and right into the face of Special Kay, an old Athens friend. Apparently she's been in LA for the last 2 years. We're going to try and hang out. Now I'm trying to recuperate. 3 days of partying has made me feel my age.
To close, I would like to recommend that everyone check out the story of John Titor (you can find it very easily through a simple Google search). He's from the future (2036) and he came back to find a computer, but he has also made all sorts of interesting predictions and statements. Apparently the people of the future hate us. Surprised? My SB Friends and I have already started to plan for the apocalypse. I suggest that y'all start doing the same. On a side note, I just found out that a physics graduate student that I used to know was working on a theoretical time machine. If only I had known while he was still here. He might have been the perfect man for me.
