Vote or Die

Today's the big election. You know the one. I'm glad that this circus is coming to an end, but I'm terrified that Arnold the Barbarian is going to pull this off. It doesn't look good. It's really terrifying to see how willing people are to discount the stories of sexually harassed women.

I'm going to vote no on the recall, but I have been torn about the second vote. If I vote my conscience I would vote for Peter Camejo; however, he has no chance of winning and I REALLY don't like Arnold and his wife, aka Skeletor, really freaks me out. If I was treating this like the circus it is I would vote for Gary Coleman or Trek Thunder Kelly, who writes:

Dear Voters, Please vote for me, thus breaking the Seventh Seal and incurring Armageddon. I will legalize drugs, gambling, and prostitution so they may be taxed and regulated, the funds derived would subsidize the deficit, education, and the environment, I believe in peaceful resolutions backed by a strong military; I don't care who you marry or have sex with.

Tempting. I've also been tempted by the guy whose entire platform involves legalizing ferrets. Alas, I will vote for Cruz Bustamante because he has the best chance of beating Arnold. I don't really feel that good about it, but I think it's important to have someone who at least leans towards the progressive end of the spectrum in office in California.

Happy Birthday Susan, I hope that it isn't forever linked to the election of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
