HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEENER!

This is not some cheap attempt to get out of calling, or even sending a present, I promise. However, I do want you (and the rest of the spies) to realize that I remembered your birthday on your birthday proper. Hopefully, you actually read our Blogs on a semi-regular basis. Anyway, I have been working since the moment I woke up until about 15 minutes ago, and now I'm afraid it's too late. I'll try and call you tomorrow. I hope it was a good one.

So Chip, Is the David Copperfeild show really all just smoke, midgets and mirrors?

Now I'm going to comment on TV. I do realize that there is a separate list for this, and I have recieved the invites (thanks Chip), but alas I have yet to join. Anyhoo, I'm with Courtney y'all "Riley" (who I really did hate when he was a regular) looked really hot. I was actually glad to se him, and I was a bit disappointed that he was married, although I agree, "Sam" did seem perfect for him! Either this is a sign that the show really has sucked OR I've trully had a change of heart, or I guess both could be true. That's all for now for I must go teach.

Okay, so I'm watching Smallville, which is cool and all, but wasn't this an X-Files episode (more or less)?

Amy - I must say you really have my number. I am totally obsessed with Trading Spaces, so I couldn't resist taking the quiz. Here are the results:

take the which one of the trading spaces cast are you? quiz!

I had to take it three times to get a result that I could live with. I know this is a bit beside the point, but oh well.

Stephanie, I have one word for you, well really two, you make the choice: tivo or replay

It's the only way to get past your current scheduling problems!

I Am Evil

Okay, so I know I made a New Year's Resolution to not take on-line quizes, but how could I resist the are you evil quiz? As I suspected, I am in fact quite evil:

I am 53% evil.

I'm getting there. I haven't done all the damage I could do but I've done quite a bit. I'm just over the border into the Evil Zone.

Are you evil? find out at Hilowitz.com

The sad thing is, I told the truth. At least AMy is more evil than me! Shelley is so NOT evil. I am ashamed!

Chip! Please send me invites to the watching and eating blogs! I still haven't been able to join and I have so much to say. Until then, I'll post here.

eating: just tried BBQ Tofu from the Grit Cookbook. YUM! I highly recommend it!

watching: I agree, Buffy is a bit tired lately (although I did like many parts of this season until very recently). I am also totally over the Spike/Buffy soft-porn action (enough already) and I've NEVER been into the after school special addiction story-line. As for Angel/Cordy storyline. I'm a bit resistant. This is in part my romantic side wanting to hang on to the Buffy/Angel thing, but I'm also concerned about how they're going to pursue it. I want to have faith, but you never know. I'm fairly sure they wouldn't have the whole we can't have sex, blah, blah, blah angst ridden relationship as they have more than covered that with Angel and Buffy, but that means there will have to be some sort of catch - perhaps something about Cordy being a demon now? Could be interesting. I for one can't wait to find out.

Hey Stephanie, I think I was confused because you referred to it as the "racist woman book". I wasn't sure if racist was referring to book, the subject matter, or both. Anyway, I'm glad to know that's not the case. I would be thrilled if you sent me a copy. Here's my address:

Here's and idea. You and Alex can hand deliver it!

Bonnie,

Here's the recipe for Yeast Gravy. Enjoy!

1 cup vegan margarine
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup flaked nutritional yeast
2 cups regular (not reduced-fat) soy milk
1/2 cup soy sauce
1-3/4 cup hot water
2 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce

In a large, heavy-bottom saucepan over medium heat, melt margarine completely. Stir in flour and yeast until blended and conintue to heat roux until mixture begins to bubble. Use only enough heat to maintain a vigorous bubbling, whisking constantly for 4 mintues. This is the time required to cook the flour to smoothness, and vigorous whisking is importnat to avoid burning.

Continue rapid, thourough whisking and add soy milk graudally. The mixture will quickly become think and custard-like. Combine soy sauce, water, and Worcestershire sauce and add to gravy gradually. Blend well after every addition and do not add liquid so rapidly that gravy is very thin. If gravy does become too thin from the addition of too much liquid, continued cooking will thicken it.

Yields 4 cups
