Summer of Fun
I wish that I was a part of the Summer of Fun. However, I'm sure that it sounds more fun than it actually is. Right? I just re-watched Three Kings - great movie!. If you haven't seen it then you really should. It seems like just yesterday when I was watching Spanking the Monkey (same writer/director) at the Atlanta Film and Video Festival. Chip were you with me or was it just Yvonne? I think Marilyn was there also. Memories......

What I'd Like to Learn About
The following is a course desription for a class I want to take in the fall. I'm pretty excited. Maybe I'll drop out of grad school and become a television writer like my hero Jane, who writes for "Buffy".
Literature CS 2, Section 3 ** EC # 24935 ** INTRODUCTION TO TELEVISION WRITING: THE HOUR-LONG DRAMA
This is a four-session intensive seminar on the "how-to's" of writing for the hour-long television drama format. Writing experience is not necessary. This beginner's seminar focuses on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and will include script analysis, story structure, the art of the pitch. You will not write a script in this class, but there will be writing exercises. Students are required to have watched three episodes of BUFFY prior to class attendance.

Tina Yothers
Did anyone else know that Tina Yothers has died her hair black and is in some band? I wonder what Michael J. Fox thinks about this. I must say that she has improved with age. This is the useless knowledge that you get from watching way to much TV. Nine more days 'til I'm in GA again! I know that you have all been waiting with baited breathe for my return.

Women Haters?
Well Stephanie, I can't speak for the rest of Santa Barbara, but I hate women. That certainly is a huge generalization. What I find even more unbelievable is that an 18/19 year old guy would leave a place because he thinks that "everybody there hates women". Very interesting indeed. If you want to know what I'm talking about you will have to read Stephanie's Blog from yesterday. Now I'm going to go and pretend like I'm being productive.

Home Again
Yesterday I returned from a 10-day trip to Georgia where I discovered that more of you read my Blogs that I thought. Chip, Tina and Amy, I still owe you a drink. I'll catch you in August when I come back into town. By the way, the deal is now off for the rest of you. One highlight of the trip was hanging out with Chip, Amy, Andy, Tina, Cash and Jocelyn on the Saturday prior to my departure. I really enjoyed meeting Jocelyn, by the way my name is Sara, not Susan (see Jocelyn's Blog from 7/15/00) and hanging out with Amy and Andy re-confirmed by conviction that they rule, and of course we all know that Chip, Tina and Cash rule. For those of you who missed me, never fear, I will return on August 5 for a whole month of fun. Being in Athens made me feel a bit nostalgic for my Athens days. It's hard to tell if it's just me romanticizing Athens or if I truly want to live in Athens again.

Happy 4th
Happy 4th to all. I had a lovely hike and then I went to a friends house to see the fireworks. She lives up in the hills, so it was a very privileged view. Quite nice. I'm going to be home in a few very short days. I'll buy anyone who reads this and mentions it to me a drink.
